- What is the Pearson MyFoundations Lab for Freshman Composition?
It is an online study tool that provides supplementary content for Freshman Composition I & II and allows for self-paced learning.
- What is an access code?
An access code is used to facilitate registration for the Pearson MyFoundations Lab. The access code can be found on the Aeorion platform under the resource tab. See image below.
- What is a course ID?
A course ID is used to identify the respective instructors along with their individual sections.
- What is the Path Builder?
This is a set of mulitple choice test questions that each student must do in order to gain access to the Lab. (This does not contribute to your final Lab grade). However, It helps to identify what questions to give.
- Who should do the Pearson MyFoundations Lab?
All Freshman Composition I & II students *in day school* are required to do the Pearson MyFoundations Lab. Students doing Module and/or on other campuses are *NOT* required to participate in this Lab.
- How do I register for the Pearson MyFoundations Lab?
We have provided step by step tutorials on how to register. Note: Only students who have NOT yet created an account with Pearson are required to register. These are students who are doing Freshman Composition I and students who were exempted from Composition I. Students may also request an account creation on their behalf.
- If I created a Pearson account in Freshman Composition I, do I need to create another account in Freshman Composition II?
No you do not. Please see tutorial on how to reactive your account. If you should have any issues while reactivating your account, please contact support as soon as possible for us to assist you with the issue.
- How should I do the Labs?
It is recommended that one do the Lab along with the course as the assignments given are supplementary. Therefore, as soon as you finish a topic in class, do that topic on the lab.
- What if I enrol in the wrong course or section?
In the event that one should register for the wrong course or section, a student can easily fix this issue by enrolling in a new course. This is done by doing the following: 1. Log into Pearson account; 2. Click your name (top right corner); 3. Click the 'Enrol in course' option from drop down menu; 4. Copy the course ID for the course you would like to enrol in (these are found here https://www.fedorae.com/edu/lc); 5. Paste the course ID in the boxes provided (You may need to click the 'switch to single box...'' link below the boxes); 6. Confirm the course is correct (It will show the course detail on the page); 7. Click the 'enrol' button; 8. Click 'Ok' button to confirm the enrolment.
- How do I know I have successfully completed the Labs?
One successfully completes the Lab when all the assignments are completed, and the student would have obtained a score (60%-100% on the Lab) that gives them either a 5% or 10% that will be added to their final grade for the course.
- Where do I find the access code?
The access code can be found on the Aeorion platform under the resource tab. See image below.
- What should I do if I do not see the access code on Aeorion?
If you do not see an access code on Aeorion, take a screenshot and send an email to support indicating that you are not seeing one.
- What should I do if my access code is invalid?
If you get an invalid access code error, take a screenshot and send an email to support indicating so.
- What should I do if I am having issues while registering?
If you are having issues while registering, please contact support via email. Provide screenshots if possible.
- Can I use my personal email address to register for the Pearson MyFoundations Lab?
Yes, but don't! If you are having issues while attempting to register with your student email address, please contact support, and we will have it sorted. Failure to do so may result in complications with your final grade calculation.
- What is the due date for the Lab?
The due date is the date at the last red dot on the calendar of the home page on the Pearson MyFoundations Lab.
- I see "Expired User Account" after logging in, what should I do?
When you enter the Access Code while registering, a subscription lasting 10 weeks is activated for your account. After the 10 weeks has ended, the subscription becomes expired; hence, the Expired User Account message. Freshman Composition II students will often see this message. However, this can be easily fixed by Reactivating the account / starting a new subscription. - What should I do if I get an invalid course ID or invite link error?
First, be sure that the course ID match exactly as seen here: https://www.fedorae.com/edu/lc#course-ids on the course IDs page (we recommend copying and pasting). Second, You might be on a different area of the Pearson platform (in this case as seen in image) than the one the University uses to facilitate the Lab. Try following the instructions here: https://www.fedorae.com/blog/how-to-access-pearson-myfoundationslab for accessing the Lab and if that does not work take a screenshot of the error and send an email to support indicating so.
- I see "Single Sign-On Error", what should I do?
You might be on a different area of the Pearson platform than the one the University uses to facilitate the Lab. Try following the instructions here: https://www.fedorae.com/blog/how-to-access-pearson-myfoundationslab for accessing the Lab and if that does not work take a screenshot of the error and send an email to support indicating so.
- What should I do if I see "Please register before signing in"?
This usually means the account is not fully activated. This can occur if the Access Code was not entered during registration or if the account subscription has ended/expired. However, this can be easily fixed by Reactivating the account / starting a new subscription. - What should I do if I see "That ID didn't work" error?
Be sure that the course ID match exactly as seen here: https://www.fedorae.com/edu/lc#course-ids on the course IDs page (we recommend copying and pasting).The example in the image shows a common mistake of entering the Access Code for the course ID.
